Bringing northern stories to life
Sagafish Media is a Yukon production company founded in 2015 that specializes in storytelling with a northern point-of-view. Our backyard is the circumpolar North and our films combine engaging narrative, striking visuals and universal themes that help audiences learn about these little-known worlds. Our company is grounded in northern values. Most of our projects to date are filmed in Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Iceland and Norway. Our perspective is shaped by living in places where people know how to live an authentic life closer to the land.
Fritz Mueller is a Canadian biologist, documentary filmmaker and the co-founder of Sagafish Media. An award-winning photographer and a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Fritz has spent three decades in Canada’s North, with a career that spans science, government, visual art, and business. Centred in the stories and people of the circumpolar North, Fritz’s documentaries include Mammoth Hunters, Journeys to Adäka, Aurora Love and Voices Across the Water, a co-production with the National Film Board of Canada.
Teresa Earle is a partner in Sagafish Media, a Yukon production company centred on screen storytelling in Canada’s North. She is a producer, writer and editor, and her filmography includes Mammoth Hunters, the award-winning Journeys to Adäka, Aurora Love and a co-production with the National Film Board, Voices Across the Water. Teresa teaches writing and has been engaged in industry development for a decade as the president of Screen Production Yukon Association.
Jordy Walker is a musician, composer, audio producer and sound artist based in Whitehorse, Yukon. Jordy has scored and mixed all of Sagafish Media’s films. A talented multi-instrumentalist and versatile composer, Jordy is a long-time creative collaborator and invaluable member of our post-production team. His roots are in jazz and classical guitar, and his approach combines creative invention with a knowledge of tradition. He has scored 25 films and has produced or engineered over 50 records, and he collaborates widely with other performing artists. In 2024 Jordy released his first official solo album, Gifted With Fiction.
